Royal Air Maroc
Royal Air Maroc (RAM) has installed the Onboard Retail Solutions® (the new name for Clue® Trader) system across its fleet of 44 aircraft to help boost inflight duty free and travel retail sales. Additionally, the Onboard Retail Solutions® systems will be used for the food and beverage sales onboard its low-cost subsidiary Atlas Blue.
RAM chose Onboard Retail Solutions® because of its proven track record in the market place and its specifically onboard retail focused technology solutions. With six million passengers across 36 countries and 67 destinations, RAM required a responsive and flexible solution provider. Onboard Retail Solutions® has been able to implement its onboard solution quicker and more cost effectively than any other supplier.
RAM had identified from an early point that one of the key factors in successful revenue generation was successful cost control. Onboard Retail Solutions® is able to rapidly implement multiple tools which enable airlines to control, investigate and monitor discrepancies in stock and moneys taken. RAM Spokesperson Mr. Khalid ASSAFI said, "Our main objective was to identify a robust solution that both ground and cabin crew found intuitive to use and quick to deploy. Onboard Retail Solutions®' option was easily the system of choice because of its modular format and the comprehensive support network the company has in place. We are extremely pleased with how straight forward the deployment has been."
Onboard Retail Solutions®' CEO Thomas Drohan says, "We are incredibly excited to be working with Royal Air Maroc, who already has a very impressive track record with onboard sales and we are looking forward to helping them improve this further. This implementation marks Onboard Retail Solutions' first airline partnership in Africa, but judging from the interest from other carriers in the region we don't expect it will be long before it is joined by many others."
The Onboard Retail Solutions®' system is designed to streamline and improve the whole onboard retail process, from retail product and promotion planning through picking, packing and loading and on to assisting the cabin crew in giving their passengers the very best duty free/travel retail service at the point of sale. It enables quick product selection and payment with cash or credit card and provides passengers with clear receipts. It has been seamlessly integrated into the relevant Royal Air Maroc systems to provide management with comprehensive retail performance reporting.
